Machine Operator / Set Up Person

SUMMARY: Perform precision set-ups and operate, both, internally designed second-operation polygoning machines and externally purchased, Screw machines. This individual will also, prepare tooling for this equipment (including precision grinding of cutters on an Ewag grinder). The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience on precision grinding/cutting machines, CNC turning of small parts with tight tolerances (.0001”), experience using precision measurement tools (i.e. calipers, mics, toolmaker's microscope, gage blocks/pins, comparator, etc.). The candidate must have the ability to interpret Engineering drawings in addition to having good mathematics skills. An ability to look at part designs and formulate/create template CNC programs, using geometry techniques, will be necessary. This template CNC program will be used to fabricate multiple geometric variations of a specific, common, geometric form, by inputting strategic dimensional information called out as variables.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Ideally, the individual possesses a technical/manufacturing oriented education (preferably with CAM programming as part of the educational experience). Multiple years of applicable CAM experience in industry is a bonus. The individual must possess the following qualifications:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a typical high-precision production/metal fabrication environment with all of the associated equipment and resources.
