CNC Programmer / Operator

SUMMARY:  QA Technology is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer / Operator. This individual will work in a clean toolroom environment to fabricate close tolerance machine components from detail drawings to support the build of in-house production assembly equipment, prototype development and short run production. They will write and develop programs, perform precision set-ups and operate CNC milling Machines. This individual must be an independent worker who is self-motivated and willing to experiment with improved techniques for manufacturing components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This individual will write and develop CNC programming of machine parts and components using CNC software from 2d and 3D part models. They will be responsible for achieving part specifications by determining best practices for machining parts including cutter speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts and cutting tool selection. They must be able to make necessary fixtures, perform set-ups and operate vertical CNC milling center. While working to close tolerances they must inspect parts and have experience in machining a variety of materials such as plastic, aluminum, steel and stainless steel. They should also have experience with the full range of bench and machine tool equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders and hones to perform work involving close tolerances and critical dimensions. They must have experience with precision measurement tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, toolmakers microscope, gage blocks/pins, comparator, etc.) for the inspection of parts to verify dimensions and quality of work. They will setup and manage tooling and materials to meet part requirements, deburr and finish parts to a high standard of workmanship and at times assemble manufactured components for the build of in house equipment and verification of the operation. This individual will be required to perform general machine maintenance as required. This individual must be the type of person who will provide ongoing input to supervisor/management for potential process improvements that will speed up repetitive processes and improve part quality.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will have a High school or trade school education with a minimum of five (5) years machine shop experience Minimum of 5 years of experience with CNC programming Solidworks, CamWorks and Mastercam experience is a plus Experience with Micro drilling is a plus.
