Finishing Area Technician
(Hampton, NH)
SUMMARY: QA Technology Company, Inc. is in search of a Finishing Area Technician who will tend to equipment utilized in the Finishing Department. Operations include cleaning, heat treating, deburring and special processes defined by the Manufacturing Engineer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize and schedule processes to satisfy timely turnaround of all components routed through processing.
- Cleaning components, utilizing aqueous wash, tumbling methods or vapor-degreasing methods.
- Deburring or polishing components, utilizing high energy, barrel tumbling or vibra-hone methods.
- Heat treating, oxidizing or stress relieving components, utilizing "Blue M" or "Associated" oven at moderate temperatures, with or without inert atmosphere.
- Heat treating c components, utilizing "Safed" shaker furnace oven and gas disassociator at high temperatures with an inert atmosphere and the use of quench oil.
- General drying of components, utilizing low temperature ovens and centrifugal dryers.
- Oil spinning components, utilizing centrifugal dryers.
- Mix and maintain probe oil solutions for production machines and pressure lubricator.
- Operate wastewater evaporator to include recharging aqueous wash system with fresh chemical solutions.
- Organize and maintain supply inventories for processing, to include weekly scheduling and ordering of nitrogen.
- Rework deficient components, adhering to standard written processes or Manufacturing Engineer's written/verbal instructions.
- In process inspection of processed components.
- Perform light maintenance on various finishing equipment such as cleaning shaker furnace feed track, cleaning sight glass in wastewater evaporator.
- Perform overall housekeeping, keeping area neat and clean.
- Follow quality plan to ensure integrity of product produced.
- Notify supervisor immediately upon discovering non-conforming product.
- Notify supervisor immediately of any noticed machine problems.
- Provide ongoing input to supervisor/management of potential improvements.
- Participate in all semi-annual and "cycle count" inventories.
- Attendance is an essential function of this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:: High school level math skills
