Maintenance Specialist

(Hampton, NH)

SUMMARY: Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cuts grass and trims weeds on organizations property

Cleans internal areas of buildings, including sweeping, mopping and operating floor scrubbers

Operates snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks

Makes routine, periodic or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery and equipment

Maintains and repairs buildings plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses

Maintains and repairs internal wood trim of building.

Test, troubleshoots and repairs machines and equipment such as truck, snow blowers and riding mower replacing worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts.

Sets up and operates all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work.

Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.

Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Current Driver's Licenses

COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient with Microsoft Office
